Thank you for thinking about me for your proofreading needs.  I should begin by saying that at the moment, I can only offer this service to residents of Trinidad and Tobago.

What are the benefits?

If you're about to hand in your dissertation, thesis or research paper, you can improve your overall grade by having it proofread.  You'll end up with a cleaner, easier-to-read document that anyone would be proud to submit.

What I can do for you

I can check your document for spelling, punctuation, grammar, and expression.  I can correct errors and suggest better ways to express yourself.  If you're having problems keeping within your word count, I can suggest ways for you to cut the document without compromising its content.

What I can't do for you

I can't check your figures or calculations - I'm not a mathematician.  I can't check facts or data - I'm not a research specialist.  I can't predict if you're going to pass or not, or comment on your hypothesis or reasoning.  You put all that information in; I'm just here to help you say it better.

How does it work?

When you are through with your draft, e-mail to me.  I will use the Track Changes and Comments features in Microsoft Word to make corrections.  I will then return the corrected document. 

How much do I charge?

I charge 10c per word, based on the word count in Microsoft Word, on the original document.  I expect cash on delivery.

Is this a good price?

You'd better believe it.  It's actually less than half what you'd expect to pay at an advertising agency or similar institution.

Why do I charge so little?

I was a student once, too, you know.  I know what it's like.

My academic background

I graduated from UWI with a First Class Honours degree in Language and Literature, with a gold medal for academic excellence and 6 other academic prizes.  I was also a postgraduate tutor in Language, Logic and Composition for two years.

My professional background

Over the past 13 years, I have worked in the field of Public Relations, during which time I have become the go-to gal when it comes to proofreading annual reports, magazines, press releases, brochures, booklets, etc. 

As you can see, I have 11 novels published and many in the works.  I was also a columnist in the Trinidad Guardian for almost three years.

Simply put, I have a good eye for written errors and a feel for the English language.
