Thursday May 28 - Sex, wonderful sex!
Just finished a kick-ass sex scene. Yeah, I'm back on my book if only for a little while. And damn, it was hot.
Now, While I do enjoy an occasional sex scene in a book, I always get irritated when I sense I'm under pressure to stuff it in there - no pun intended - just to boost sales. That just annoys me. Gratuitous sex is boring to read and tiresome to write.
But when it's good, and when it fits the time, place and characters...booyah!
Tuesday May 19 - Still chasin' tail
Well, not literally, (unfortunately) but I do feel like a dog chasing her tail.
Spinning round and round, trying to make enough money to keep shoes on my kids'
ever-growing feet, still no new book contract in sight, and, worst of all...so
busy doing piecework that I can't work on my book!
I haven't even clicked on my WIP in yonks...yonks, I tell you!
Blood pressure going up. Feel...faint. Need...to...write...
Monday May (MAY!!!) 4 - Missing my babies
There comes a time in every woman's life when she has to earn a few coppers to pay the bills. This is such a time. And as I'm out there, making a few paltry dollars on a short term gig, all I can think about is my book. My characters, and the fact that I'm not with them.
Sometimes it feels like I'm not right when I'm not with them. I'm not whole when I'm not spending time with them. It's like my own little private bout of mental illness. And I love it.
